This year, Wapuu Saa is all dressed up for the Udaipur WordCamp event!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

If you don\u2019t know this guy. Here\u2019s a quick hello!<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Wapuu Saa is our official mascot for WordCamp Udaipur. This mischievous member of the Udaipur WordPress Community is the first one to get ready for the upcoming event.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Just have a look at his cool turban and mustache, and this year, Wapuu Saa has learned the skill to swim, too! \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n\n\n

The Idea Behind Wapuu Saa<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Rajasthan is a state of rich culture and heritage. It\u2019s very well known for its unique attire. We wanted the same traditional touch for our Wapuu. So, we started exploring the design ideas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Turban<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Starting from the top. A Turban, commonly known as Pagari (\u092a\u0917\u0921\u0940) or Paagari(\u092a\u0917\u0921\u0940), is worn by men, and the style varies in different parts of the state.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Pagari in desert areas is often loose and large to protect the head from extreme heat. The pagari \/ Turban is usually worn in a single color, but on special celebrations, people wear a colorful Pagari just like Wapuu Saa is wearing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mustache<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Rajasthani men have a deep-rooted tradition of maintaining glorious mustaches, and our Wapuu Saa has made sure that he has a good-lookin\u2019 stache ready, too. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Riding on \u2013 Boat<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Udaipur is a city of lakes, and people love to enjoy boat rides in Fateh Sagar.<\/p>\n\n\n

Wapuu Saa looks exciting with boat riding, and you can see him posing with it as well.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Dress Code<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Behind the Boat, you can see Wapuu Saa pulling off dhoti and kurta (\u0927\u094b\u0924\u0940 \u0915\u0941\u0930\u0924\u093e). Dhoti Kurta, also being the oldest traditional Rajasthani attire for men, Wapuu Saa decided to go for it.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Name<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

\u201cSaa\u201d is commonly used to show love and respect to someone and is a part of day-to-day conversations. Hence, we named our Wapuu as Wapuu Saa.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
